Υπάρχουν 3 εκκλησίες, μουσείο, θεατράκι, καφέ με μοναδική θέα και είναι ένα από τα χωριά της Κουμανταρίας! Tο μοναδικά όμορφο μονοπάτι της φύσης που οδηγεί στην Αετοφωλιά και στα βουνά της Παπούτσας όπου βρίσκονται 2 κρησφύγετα της ΕΟΚΑ είναι μία απόλαυση για να περπατήσει κάποιος. Σε όλη την διαδρομή θα βρείτε παγκάκια για ξεκούραση!

    Agios Konstantinos, a small but lovely village just outside the town of Limassol. Its worth visiting and you can find 3 churches, a museum, nature path walk that takes you to Eagles nest and Papoutsa, You can finish the visit at the cafe with a lovely scenery view.

  • Η ιστορία του ξεκίνησε το 1955 στον Πειραιά, όπου κατασκευάστηκε από τον καραβομαραγκό Δημήτριο Ζαχαρία. Το μήκους 25 μέτρων και χωρητικότητας 48 τόνων ξύλινο πλοιάριο με τα δύο κατάρτια, νηολογήθηκε το 1965 στο λιμάνι της Αμμοχώστου, παίρνονταν τη ονομασία της αρχαίας Λάμπουσας, απ’ όπου καταγόταν ο νέος ιδιοκτήτης του.

    The story of Lampousa started in 1955 in Piraeus Greece where it was made by the carvmaster Demetrios Zacharia. This 25 meters long 48 tons wooden ship with 2 masts, started working from the port of Ammochostos and took its name from the ancient Lampousa, from where the owner was from.

  • The old closed deserted brick and tile ceramic factory in Limassol, Cyprus and what is left now. Το κεραμείο Λεμεσού αποτέλεσε ίσως την πρώτη βιομηχανική μονάδα της πόλης. Δυστυχώς από το βιομηχανικό συγκρότημα σήμερα σώζετε μόνο το τμήμα του κτιρίου στο οποίο γινόταν η αποξήρανση και αποθήκευση τούβλων, το φουγάρο και κάποιοι βοηθητικοί χώροι. Το κτίριο έχει κηρυχθεί διατηρητέο.

  • Going off road to look for the hidden lake, Diamond as we called it, in the Troodos mountains got us stuck with the car since most of the road was washed away by the rivers created from the rain.

    Never the less, we managed to find the Diamond shape lake, as we called it, and also took aerial video of the no entry zone lake in the Amiantos old mine.

  • We have heard about Phassouri and that’s where they grow Oranges, Grapefruit, Lemons but they also have vineyards with the world known sultana grapes / raisings …..  let’s go back in time, from the beginning when it all started.

    It is the owner of the biggest plantations in Cyprus consisting of a total area of about 4,824 dunams of land.

    Who?
    The Cyprus Palestine Plantations Ltd was first founded and registered in Cyprus in 1933 under this name.

    Later, in 1974 this name was changed to The Cyprus Phassouri Plantations Co.Ltd in 1974 as the shareholding of the company came under the control of Cypriot owners.

    The purpose of the first company was to reclaim and put into productive use the marshy lands adjoining the Salt Lake of Akrotiri which is located in the Mediterranean region and this was done also with the help of the eucalyptus trees that is known the roots crawl and find water.

  • Amathus (Ancient Greek: Ἀμαθοῦς) was one of the most ancient royal cities of Cyprus, on the southern coast in front of Agios Tychonas, about 24 miles west of Larnaca and 6 miles east of Limassol. Its ancient cult of Aphrodite was the most important, after Paphos, in Cyprus, her homeland, though the ruins of Amathus are less well-preserved than neighboring Kourion.

    Η Αμαθούντα ήταν αρχαία πόλη-κράτος στην Κύπρο. Βρίσκεται στη νότια Κύπρο, κοντά στην σημερινή Λεμεσό.

    Σύμφωνα με τη μυθολογία οικιστής της πόλης είναι ένας γιος του Ηρακλή, ο Άμαθος. Το όνομά της προέρχεται ή από αυτόν τον Άμαθο ή από τη νύμφη Αμαθούσα, μητέρα του βασιλιά της Πάφου Κινύρα[1]. Εδώ έφερε ο Θησέας την κόρη του Μίνωα, την Αριάδνη, όταν ξέφυγε από τον λαβύρινθο. Εκεί, αφού γέννησε το παιδί της πέθανε και τάφηκε.

    Οι αρχαιολογικές έρευνες έδειξαν ότι η περιοχή κατοικείται από τον 11ο αιώνα π.Χ.. Αρχικά ήταν μικρή πολίχνη χτισμένη σε οχυρό λόφο δίπλα στη θάλασσα, περίπου τον 8ο αιώνα π.Χ. κτίστηκε το λιμάνι, στα ελληνιστικά χρόνια το λιμάνι επεκτάθηκε και χτίστηκε δεύτερος εσωτερικός κλειστός λιμένας. Στην πόλη λατρευόταν η Αφροδίτη, της οποίας υπήρχε και ναός.

  • Η γιορτή του κατακλυσμού στην Λεμεσό είναι μία πανήγυρης που πάει 3 μέρες, από Παρασκευή μέχρι Δευτέρα βράδυ.
    Από χορούς μέχρι αγώνες κολύμβησης, από παραδοσιακά γλυκά όπως ο Σουτζούκος, Λουκουμάδες, Σιάμιση μέχρι οπωρικά, Τσαμαρέλλα κλπ μπορείτε να βρείτε!
    Το 2015 πρόσθεσαν και τον γνωστό στα παλιά χρόνια "Πάμπορο" για μία βαρκάδα στα όμορφα παράλια της Λεμεσού.
    Ο "Πάμπορος" ήταν το μεγάλο καράβι αγκυροβολημένο στα ανοικτά, οπόταν ο κόσμος για να το δει από κοντά, έμπαινε στις βάρκες ή και μαούνες και τους έπαιρναν εκεί για να το δουν από κοντά. Έτσι φώναζαν το γνωστό σε όλους "άλλος για τον Πάμπορο" για να έρθει ο κόσμος στα σκάφη αυτά.

    Limassol cataclysm is a three day fair that starts on Saturday and finished on Monday night.
    From dancing to swimming competitions, from traditional sweets like Soutzoukos, Loukoumades, Shamishi to nuts, Tsamarella etc.
    This year 2015 a boat was added for trips along the lovely Limassol shore line, just like in some years before and it was called "Pamporos".
    Pamporos was actually the big ship anchored out in the deep. So, when people wanted to see this up-close, they enter smaller boats that took them there. Next for the Pamporos was calling for people to come and enter the boats.

  • This is a unique of its kind in Cyprus known as double-bridge. Since the exit of the bridge was steep / uphill, the animals had a hard time pulling the carriage, so the build the upper part to make everybody's life easier!

    This bridge, according to the 2 signs engraved, the bottom layer was (maybe) made in 1901 and top bridge in 1912.

    Σύμφωνα με τις δύο επιγραφές, το κάτω μέρος του γιοφυριού (ίσως) έγινε το 1901 και το πάνω το 1912.

    Αυτό είναι το γνωστό 'διπλογιόφυρον' και μοναδικό του είδους στη Κύπρο. Μιάς και η έξοδος του πρώτου γεφυριού ήταν πολύ απότομη/ανηφορική, τα  ζώα δυσκολεύονταν να τραβήξουν τα αμάξια, οπότε κτίστηκε το πάνω μέρος για να κάνει τη ζωή των περαστικών πιο εύκολη!
